What is personal ID code? – The Estonian identification (ID) code is a unique 11-digit code that will remain the same your entire lifetime. It is a number formed on the basis of the sex and date of birth of a person which allows the specific identification of the person.

How and where can I use it? – With personal code you can apply for ID-card which will allow you to access many e-services and to do online authentication.

Who provides it? – The ID code is provided by the local government, in Tallinn it is the Tallinn Vital Statistics Office (https://www.tallinn.ee/Teenus-Personal-identification-code-formation)
